How to sleep well and wake up healthy

The secret to a good night’s sleep is to rid of the worrying thoughts and maintain a regular routine for sleeping. It is essential to maintain the routine as otherwise you will confuse your body’s mental clock with sleeping times and will have difficulty with sleeping. This is also the reason for developing insomnia and other sleeping disorders. The posture that you sleep in also affects the comfort of your sleep and requires attention if you are experiencing cramps and body pain after waking up.

Other reasons for developing sleeping condition are the food consumption. Some foods, especially oily or spicy foods create difficulty with sleeping as these foods provide you with ample energy which keeps your adrenaline glands working overtime and thereby disallowing you to slumber off. Having food near your sleeping time is also another reason for developing sleep disorders as your stomach will be trying to digest the food as you are trying to sleep. This will create discomfort and will not let you sleep well. To allow yourself a good night’s sleep, you should practice having light meals before sleeping and maintain a gap of approximately two hours between sleep and dinner so as to allow your body to digest the food before you try to go to sleep. Try to maintain a regular sleeping schedule which will allow your body to adjust to the sleep timing and let you fall asleep with more ease.

In order to handle sleeping posture, you need to understand how you sleep and which areas of your body gets the most pressure and use pillows to distribute the pressure evenly so as to not strain that part of your body too much. As for stress, it is quite impractical to suggest forgetting it as that is not always possible, but try to think of better thoughts as you drift off to sleep. These measures will allow you to sleep comfortably and wake up healthy.
